# Sitrep for GitHub support

Most problems come down to sign-in, repository access or GitHub's rate limits. Try the steps below, then get in touch.

## Contact

Email [contact@lucidlabs.com.au](mailto:contact@lucidlabs.com.au?subject=Sitrep%20support). We reply within one business day, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST. You can also [open an issue on GitHub](https://github.com/LucidLabsAU/sitrep/issues).

## Common questions

### I cannot sign in

- Tap Sign in with GitHub, then enter the shown code at github.com/login/device before it expires.
- Check the device clock is set automatically.
- If an organisation owns the repositories, an owner may need to approve the Sitrep app for that organisation.

### A repository is missing or shows ?

- A ? means that count could not be read, for example your account lacks access to security alerts. It is never a zero.
- Check you can open the repository on github.com with the same account.
- Pull to refresh. Sitrep batches requests to stay inside GitHub’s rate limits, so alert counts refresh more slowly.

### Widgets look out of date

- Open the app once so it refreshes and writes a new snapshot.
- Widget refresh is rationed by the system; stale data is dimmed so you can tell.

### I want to try it without GitHub

Tap Try Demo Mode. It shows example repositories and makes no network requests.
